If you are a media rep, how much respect are you going to have when you call on a media buyer who goes to work in sweats? It might be cold outside, but part of gaining respect and admiration from sales reps is by dressing the part. We’d all love to wear jeans everyday to work along with a sloppy t-shirt that we’ve had for fifteen years, but if you dress that way, you will garner no respect and no admiration. Your intelligence will be in question and thought will go through the seller’s mind that you might not be capable of doing your job properly. You don’t need to dress in 3-piece suits every day, but certainly “business attire” is critical for your success.
