It is absolutely amazing how people don’t really listen to what people are saying. I went through a Burger King the other night, asked for a hot dog with just a little mustard. When I got to the window to pick it up, it was smothered with what looked like a half a jar of yellow mustard! I drove through again. Gave the yellow dog back to the gal at the window. She replaced it with what I had asked for – a hot dog with just a little mustard. Wouldn’t it have been a more pleasant experience had someone listened the first time? IMHO, the public (and private) schools should have an ongoing class about “How to listen.” Active Listening. I know it is a problem for some of my grandchildren. They leave the room while I’m still speaking, telling me that they’re not interested in hearing what I have to say. This is a major lifelong problem.
