Professionalism – A Lost Art In Education

I walked into a high school where two of my granddaughters go the other day, only to see teachers dressed in capris, jeans, sandals, sneakers, looking as if they were on their way to the gym. When I was in school all those many moons ago, teachers dressed professionally, and the students had a high regard for them. If teachers wonder why their students are unruly and aggressive, sassy and mouthy, perhaps they should take a step backwards and look into the mirror and see what their students see. If the teachers want the respect they might deserve, they need to dress the part.
