My TV Rep Gave Me an Expensive Gift for Christmas. What do I do?

The Society to Advance Media Professionalism is adamant about gifts from sellers to buyers. They teach that any gift valued at more than $20 must have the station’s/publication’s logo on it, and it must be a gift that is being given to all buyers/planners. If the station or publication has given you, the buyer, an expensive, personal gift for the holidays, you must not accept it. You must return it to them, with thanks for their thoughtfulness, but also with an explanation about how you would feel you “owed” them something because of this expensive gift. A buyer never wants to feel they “owe” a station or a publication anything.
