Computer Doldrums

7/11/2012

After about six hours in front of my computer, when my eyes are almost crossing, my brain is frying, my bottom is numb, and my feet feel like pins and needles, I need to get up, walk around the office, run up and down the stairs a few times, and maybe even go for a short walk around the block. After the walk (avoiding Dunkin’ Donuts the whole time), I feel rejuvenated and ready to tackle the computer again. First, two Aleve. Then, two more hours of work. What did we ever do before computers? And, how did we ever manage to get all that work done efficiently and in a timely manner? I lived it, but I couldn’t begin to tell anyone how much work I completed in those pre-computer days versus the amount of work I crunch out today. It seems I was busy then, and I’m busy now. Hmmm.
